Lent and the liturgy

John F. Baldovin SJ is Professor of Historical and Liturgical Theology at Boston College School of Theology and Ministry, USA. This article explores some of the historical background of our Lenten liturgy.

The key is that, although conversion is a task for every day, during Lent we do this together.
